About two and a half years ago, I had a great life- my beautiful wife and I ran a successful restaurant in Brimingham, Florida and we were very happy. But in the summer of 2007 things slowly started to change.
As the economy began to slow down, the number of restaurant patrons started to decrease as our operating overhead costs increased. The mortgage to our house and bills for everyday expenses started to climb and seemingly in a flash, we were unable to afford our mortgage.
We were forced to liquidate our business. After just three months of being late on our loan payments, we received a notice of foreclosure from our bank. As our cost of living substantially rose relative to our income, I told myself that no matter how chaotic my situation became, I wouldn’t give up.
